"A Business with a Conscience"
At The Boathouse we believe it is more than just trendy to use organic and free trade products. We believe it is an ethical obligation for businesses to minimize their impact on the environment and maximize their support of local and sustainable businesses. That is why at The Boathouse, you may notice our use of biodegradable and recycled materials in all of our take-out containers (including sugar-cane based straws). We also serve only fair-trade coffees and teas, and do our best to purchase local and organic products whenever possible (look for our seasonal menu items!). Our fryer oil is recycled into biodiesel and we have begun replacing old appliances with Energy Star appliances. These are just some of the ways The Boathouse is exercising its philosophy that if a business supports its community, the community will support the business.
